This was one of my first wildlife photos i took. Only used a standard zoom lens too, so was lucky to get really close to the bird.

European Robin (Erithacus rubecula)
Length: 13-14 cm (5")
Wing Span: 20-22 cm (8-9")
Weight: 16-22 g (½-¾ oz)
Breeding Pairs: 4 200 000
Present: All Year

Thanks yeah gotta love em, here all year round but have always been seen as a christmas bird...wierd.

because its one of the few birds that stay here in the winter, and it provides some colour when all is bleak... thats how i see it
